Space Rent Stabilization

The evolution of mobilehome living from the post-World War II days of “trailers" to current day manufactured housing has seen many changes.  With manufactured housing and mobilehomes now being "immobile", prefabricated homes, and mobilehome park ownership now a lucrative business; homeowners have encountered an increasing need for some kind of local government protection to safeguard their interests. Of all issues faced by mobilehome owners, none is more important than the question of how much space rent a homeowner will be required to pay.

  1. This is a useless paragraph; it is an introduction with no follow through???

  2. It would appear to be an ad for the handbook it references. Not helpful at all!

  3. We are well aware that rent control for mobilehome parks does not exist in certain jurisdictions. 'Your Rights Bytes' should provide us with information on how to work toward getting a rent stabilization ordinance, and how GSMOL can help.

  5. Your Rights Bytes said: We will deal with this process of persuasion [rent control] in the next several Your Rights Bytes. I totally look forward to this. Something tells me it will help more of us to step out of denial as far as understanding and accepting what we will learn.

  7. Please keep the information coming. The more we have, the more likely we will be able to converse with our City Council in Rancho Cordova. I have read and heard that California does not have Rent Control and yet some Parks have Rent Control. Confusing information. Thank you for continuing to send us all the great information.
